MSME-DI, Guwahati organizes a number of training programmes to train potential first generation entrepreneurs for upgradation of their techno/managerial knowledge and skills with ultimate objective to start MSEs in various fields.
The Government has taken several initiatives and measures for enhancing the competitiveness of SMEs in the present global environment. The most important among them is the enactment of the ‘Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006’, which aims to facilitate the promotion and development and enhance the competitiveness of MSMEs. The Act has come into force from 2nd October 2006.
For enhancing the competitiveness of the Indian manufacturing sector & to develop global competitiveness among Indian MSMEs, the Government has launched the National Manufacturing Competitiveness Programme (NMCP). There are ten components under the NMCP targeted at enhancing the entire value chain of the MSME sector.
