Small Industries Service Institute (S.I.S.I.) Guwahati is the field office of Small Industry Development Organization (SIDO), Ministry of SSI & ARI, Govt. of India, functioning at the regional level.

This organization caters to the promotional needs of existing and prospective small scale entrepreneurs of three states viz. Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya.

SISI, Guwahati, with its six branches is equipped with experienced technocrats, economic investigation and management personnel to provide techno-managerial consultancy services in various disciplines like Mechanical, Glass & Ceramics, Chemical, Leather, Industrial management, Electrical, Electronics, Metallurgical, Economic investigation, Food etc.

To provide overall support to small, tiny and village industries in terms of productivity, employment, export and installing a competitive industrial culture for planned economic growth for the upliftment of society.

Techno-Echonomic consultancy services like Technical Information,Market Information, Economic information, Managerial information etc. are offered to existing industries and new entrepreneurs in the fields of Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Electronics engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Glass & Ceramics, Leather Footwear & allied products, Food Technology & processing, free of cost.

The Institute also assists entrepreneurs in product selection, choice of technology, selection of machinery etc. The experienced officers also provide practical demonstration on the manufacturing of chalk crayons, detergent powder, liquid detergent, phenyle on the specific requirement of the entrepreneurs at at a nominal cost.
  

The Institute prepares feasible & viable project reports on various items on subsidized charges fixed by the Government of India.

However, model Business Plans/Project Profiles on various items are available free of cost for guidance of prospective entrepreneurs for setting up the units and for expansion to the existing entrepreneurs.
