| Training is the most important input for successful running an enterprise. There are so many subjects on which an entrepreneur must have up to-date information. SISI, Guwahati and its Branch Institute conduct various training programmes round the year. There are three regular modules of training. | |||||||||
| (A) Entrepreneurial Development Programme (EDP) | |||||||||
This Institute conducts Process-cum product oriented EDPs in various fields like food processing, screen printing, assembly and testing of computer hardware, computer software, motor rewinding, servicing of electrical appliances, manufacturing of chalk crayons, plastic products, chemical products and leather products. The objective of the programme is to identify persons with entrepreneurial quality, to motivate and train them through structured training course in order to enable them to set-up tiny and small scale industrial ventures. Assistance is available from different agencies for setting up iindustry. On successful completion of programme a Certificate is given to the participants. | |||||||||

| (B) Management development Programme (MDP) | |||||||||

SISI, Guwahati and its six branches organize two weeks Management development Programme for existing and prospective entrepreneurs. The basic objective of the programme is to impart training in management to improve the productivity of the existing entrepreneurs and developing the new enterprises. These

| (C) SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (SDP) | |||||||||
| SISI, Guwahati and Branch SISI, Silchar provide Skill Development training to the artisans in the field of Fitter, Turner and Welder trades to equip them with better and improved technologies of production.. Preference is given to industrially sponsored candidates. SDP training is provided through theoretical structure and on the job training in the workshops attached to these institutes. | |||||||||

| INTENSIVE INDUSTRIAL MOTIVATION CAMPAIGN | |||||||||
| SISI, Guwahati and its six branches organizes one day Intensive Motivational Campaigns for first generation entrepreneurs. These campaigns emphasis on mobilizing young educated youth of the region and motivate them for setting up of small-scale industry as a career option. . Officers of various disciplines of this institute and other promotional agencies explain in details about the opportunities in the programme, so that educated un-employed youth may come forward to set up small-scale industry. In the present day scenario, where avenue for govt. job and private employment are receding, the small scale industry offers a good chance a means of livelihood to the educated unemployed youth. Advertisement is given for various programme in leading Local Daily newspaper. There are no participation fees for the programme. After the Intensive Motivational Programme the interested participants may join EDP course to get better idea for setting up of industry. | |||||||||
