The World Trade Organization (WTO) is the successor of General Agreement on Trade & Tariffs (GATT). WTO, which started functioning from 1st, January 1995, is a turning point in the world economic history. It envisages opening of the domestic economy to foreign capital, globalization, liberalization and withdrawal of tariffs and non-tariffs barriers. India being a member of WTO is committed to further liberalize the economy.

ANTI DUMPING CELL

In wake of removal of Quantitative Restriction (QRs) and progressive reduction in tariffs as part of India's commitment to WTO, SSI and other units were facing a lot of problems because of large scale imports of various consumer products including dumping by several countries. Anti dumping rules play a vital role to solve this problem.
A separate directorate i.e. Directorate General Anti- Dumping (DGAD) has been set up in Ministry of commerce & Industry to cope up with this problem. Entrepreneurs who have some grievances keeping in view that his industry is suffering because of excessive imports, is advised to contact :-
